John-Isaac Clark, TST's Chief Innovation Officer, announces 2012 product plans
TST is extremely excited to announce the new 2.0 versions of two of our core products: iSpatial® and Ubiquity®. These new versions will be launched in early 2012 with many great improvements not only to the products' feature sets but also to their core frameworks.
It's important for us to consistently listen to our users and customers and to integrate those suggestions, along with technological advancements, to deliver new capabilities and features in all of our product lines. Constant and consistent improvement is our goal.
With Ubiquity 2.0, you're really going to see a generational user experience overhaul that is designed to make it easy for anyone to quickly create and manage their mobile application functionality and data through an intuitive Web-based interface. While looking at our roadmap through 2012, we realized that we have to fundamentally accommodate a user interface paradigm that will enable all of our users to take advantage of the more advanced functionality within Ubiquity. In order to accommodate that effectively, we realized that meant a major (and overdue) user interface enhancement for our Ubiquity 2.0 release at both the Web and mobile level. I firmly believe it was well worth it and I am confident our customers and end-users will agree! At a core architectural level, expansion of the platform by third parties and enterprise customers was the name of the game with the formal release of our Ubiquity SDK and APIs.
iSpatial 2.0 really is about the unification of our service APIs, along with a slew of new features that are now integrated at the core product level. At the end-user level, these include advanced styling and standardized editing for geometry, full two-dimensional support, integrated multi-user real-time session sharing, presentations, a completely reworked simulator module, user groups, advanced tracking API, and revamped collaboration between users, groups, or external users. Also, we've listened to our big data customers and now support MongoDB® as our datastore. Traditional RDBMS have no fear—we also now support Oracle® 10/11g with Spatial!
We are excited for all the changes in iSpatial 2.0 that, while we typically use it as a framework for building solutions, are going to release it to the “wild,” because the core capability offers users so much now right out of the box. Of course we are equally excited about current and new customers who can look forward to taking advantage of all the new inherent capabilities and features the iSpatial framework has to offer.
