Thermopylae Sciences + Technology Supports “Cropping Out Cancer” In The Fight Against Ovarian Cancer

Published on November 21, 2013

ARLINGTON, VA - Today Thermopylae Sciences + Technology provided support to Cropping Out Cancer an Ovarian Cancer Research fundraising initiative started by Thermopylae employee Julie West.  Julie said "This project is for my mom. In July of 2010 she was diagnosed with stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. She fought it until March of 2012.   So I was inspired by a non profit that raises money by having participants play video games for 25 hours - I do not play video games, I design. So I thought it would be an interesting challenge to do graphic design for 24 hours straight to help fund Ovarian Cancer Research.  My date will be Saturday December 14. If you donate, you can make a design request. Logo, Business cards, web design, wireframes, things I can make with 24 hours. And I will email you and post the results. If I have free time through the 24 hours, I will design informative graphics about Ovarian Cancer. 100% proceeds will go to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund." Mike Cachine, SVP thermopylaeCARES.Org said, "This is such a great initiative that Julie has undertaken, and we were in need of a new banner design for the Operation thermopylaeCARES.Org Toys For Tots campaign we are doing, so it was a no brainer to be Julie's first 2013 customer Cropping Out Cancer."
